7th Grade Learning Objectives: Students will “explain what the Pax Romana was and how it affected Rome,” they will “describe how the Roman Empire gained and maintained power over people and territories,” they will “identify how Rome’s achievements in architecture and technology encouraged its growth,” and they will “summarize how Rome’s environment affected its growing economy and trade networks.”
8th Grade Learning Objectives: Students will “analyze how capitalism and mercantilism prompted European colonization of the America,” they will “discuss the reasons for the founding of the Jamestown and Plymouth colonies,” they will “identify the significance of the House of Burgesses and the Mayflower Compact,” and they will “explain how religion influenced life in the early colonies.”
